It is always hard for me to explain any given painting or graphic work; on the other hand, each work is part of a general approach, of plastic research linked to an evolution of my personality, my reactions and emotions in the world in which I exist.
Artistic expression is for me a well being, a necessity, and a release, but also and most of all a refuge.
Physical and instinctive, this painting is a voyage into an imaginary universe where my roots (the Périgord in France, an ancient land, one of the cradles of humanity) are at home; thus my attraction in particular for the mineral world in a very profound sense, both elementary and strong. Evocations of stone, earth and water are the essential components of my plastic expression.
Beginning with an idea, I live my creation without always knowing where it will lead me. My eye alone and my subconscious do the rest.
It is the unexpected that excites me, and that gives me the desire to paint as a way of discovering new alchemies.
