Creating a Virtual Gallery

Below is a list of commonly asked questions which may help you. If you cannot find the answer you are looking for, please feel free to contact us and we will do our best to answer your query.   How do I create a Virtual Gallery?

  Simply upload a minimum of 5 images (up to 20) per gallery to experience your very own Virtual Gallery. Your Virtual Galleries will appear to the right of your still galleries. You can create as many Virtual Galleries as you wish. We recommend resizing your images to no more than 2500 pixels wide and/or 2500 pixels high at 72 ppi. Alternatively, save your images for web. It's always best to rename your images to include your artwork title rather than No.1.jpg, No.2.jpg etc. When people view your descriptions in your galleries they'll see your title.   How do I exit a Virtual Gallery?

  You can either click the BOA logo (top left) or click the cross (top right). Or simply click the glass door within your gallery.

  How should I upload my images?

  A.

  We recommend resizing your images to no more than 2500 pixels wide and/or 2500 pixels high at 72 ppi. Alternatively, save your images for web. It's always best to rename your images to include your artwork title rather than No.1.jpg, No.2.jpg etc. When people view your descriptions in your galleries they'll see your title.   Can I determine where the images go in the gallery?

  At the moment this is not possible however we are continuously working on improving this feature.

• Q. 

  Can I go straight back inside the Virtual Gallery once I've contacted the artist?

  Only by entering the gallery again through the glass doors. We recommend you view the gallery first before contacting the artist.

  Is every artwork for sale?

• 
  A.

  Only those that display a green banner 'This artwork is available to buy' have been identified by the artist as for sale. You can still contact the artist.

• Q. 

  Can I make the images in the gallery larger or smaller?

  Since BOA are offering one solution for all artists with the immediate upload into the gallery this is currently not possible, however the artist can put the details of the size in the description box when uploading images, which will appear in the description information once in the gallery.

  Can I have a choice of other frames, or choose no frame?

• 
  A.

  Currently this is not available but BOA are looking at continuous improvement to the feature.

• Q. 

  Where do I put the title of the image so it goes in the description box?

• 
  A.

  When you upload your image there is a section immediately next to the image where you can put the title. Normally the name of the image -in how you've stored it on your pc - appears there. Simply re-write the title and click SAVE.

  How can I zoom into every section of the image and not just the centre?

• 
  A.

  This is not possible in the Virtual Gallery but if you wish to zoom into every piece of the artwork we suggest you go to the still gallery where the option of zooming into the entire image is available to you.

• Q. 

  Can I share an image from my Virtual Gallery?

• 
  A.

  No, you can only share the entire Virtual Gallery as this is a flash file. To share an image, return to your still gallery.

• Q. 

  Why are some of the keyboard keys not working in full-screen?

• 
  A.

  If you are viewing a Virtual Gallery in full-screen mode, there will be limited keyboard input. Currently, Adobe Flash Player does not always allow keyboard input when displaying content in full-screen mode.

  I've uploaded images but no Virtual Gallery icon has appeared.

  A.

  As a minimum you must upload 5 images to ensure the Virtual Gallery is created. The best effect you will get is if you upload a maximum of 20 to fill all 4 exhibition spaces. Smaller galleries will create less rooms.

• Q. 

  Can I send my Virtual Gallery to someone via a social networking site?

• 
  A.

  Yes, you will see the share icons at the top of your screen.
