About Tricia Trinder
I am an artist based in Sydney, Australia.
I work in oils, watercolour, acrylic, mixed media and encaustic (Beeswax).
For the last year I have concentrated on Encaustic, where I mix beeswax with damar resin crystals
to make my medium. I then add oil paint to make my colour.
I love it because it allows me to get the texture and colours that i want, plus i love the
unpredictability of it. I work with molten wax, scraping back, digging in and using a blow torch
to fuse each layer to the layer beneath.
